Phase 1 of the underslung access scaffold on Runcorn Viaduct has been handed over to TI Protective Coatings to commence the encapsulation. The scaffolding contractors, Bolton Northwest Scaffold, will now commence work upon providing access to the centre span.
The encapsulation contractor, Envirowrap Ltd, will now install their heat shrunk special blended fractional polythene resin “Envirowrap 350”. Whilst the scaffold deck will be double lined with “Visqueen” heavy duty polythene sheeting and “Cordex” propylene protection boarding to ensure that no contaminants generated during the Grit Blasting process can enter the SSSI River Mersey beneath the structure.
